In brief, the Comfort Inn, formerly Holiday Inn, has filed application with the city to rezone the property from C2 to OI and to get a conditional use permit to convert the facility to an Assisted Living Facility. The owners have stated that this particular property continues to lose money and that a conversion is the only way to keep the property open.
The rezoning passed, but the conditional use permit hearing was postponed until the owners had selected and secured a management company to operate the assisted living facility. The owners have now selected the management company and are hosting a community meeting to introduce them as well as entertain questions and provide additional information regarding the project, timelines, financing, and other matters that are of interest.
The information that was distributed is below. The meeting is this Wednesday, November 28th at 7:00 p.m. at the Comfort Inn.
No matter which side of the fence you may fall or if you are undecided and wish to learn more, please make every effort to come out and listen, ask questions, and provide your comments and feedback to council members as we contemplate this significant request.
