Message from the Police Chief

Neighbors,

As many of you are aware, there has been an increase in burglaries in Northwoods and Oakcliff subdivisions.  Chief King shared some important safety tips and a reminder that you can help deter crime simply by watching and calling our police department to report suspicious vehicles and/or behavior.  Here are some of the tips and information he shared with us:

  • Majority of the crimes are happening between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm.
  • Report suspicious vehicles including taxi cabs that may be driving slowly, tinted or darkened windows
  • Watch for individuals or pairs of people who may be going from door-to-door asking for directions or soliciting
  • Avoid putting out empty boxes that may indicate large or expensive purchases such as flat screen TV's, computers, ipads, etc.  Break the boxes down as much as possible or take them directly to the recycling center at Honeysuckle Park
Together we can help catch the criminals and help prevent future burglaries from happening in our city.

If you believe a crime is taking place, please call 911.

If it is a non-emergency request, please call our Police Department directly at 770-455-1000

Be safe and lets have a great 2012!
