Cross Keys Robotics Team

This past weekend, the very first Cross Keys Robotics team competed at Arabia Mountain High School in the VEX Robotics competition against 32 other high schools from across the area including Chamblee, Collins Hill, Dunwoody, St. Pius, and others.

Cross Keys fielded 2 team, including an all-girls team captained by Doraville resident, Wendy.

I was pleased to attend their quarterfinal matches where our Cross Keys teams both performed impeccably, recovering from set backs and learning from their mistakes and competition.  Prior to the elimination rounds, Cross Key Team A was 2nd overall and our girls team, Endeavor 2, was 7th overall.

Endeavor A ended up losing in the semi-final round to eventual winners Dunwoody.  Congratulations to both teams on a great first showing.

Now, both teams are gearing up for the next round of competition as they try to qualify for the World Championship next April in Anaheim, California.

Below are several videos from the competition and the work these young people put into learning.

Now, how can you help?  Easy, partner with the Cross Keys Foundation, make a contribution to support the Robotics and other science programs that are being developed at Cross Keys and soon to be trickling down to Sequoyah and Cary Reynolds.  It's easy to help and just takes a few minutes.

We are also looking for companies who are willing to provide dinner for the kids while they work and practice as well as corporate sponsors to help underwrite the costs of travel, supplies, registration fees, and other costs associated with this and other competitions.

If you are interested or know of a company who is willing to help, please contact me at brian@brianbates.net or 678-358-6830.  Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you!
