AJC is reporting that the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) is going to evaluate the DeKalb School System.
The system, as most know, has been under intense scrutiny over last several months as reports of corruption spread through the system causing the Superintendent, Crawford Lewis, to subsequently resign.
On Tuesday, November 2, there are 5 Dekalb Board of Education seats up:
Districts 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9. I urge all DeKalb voters to take a hard look at the incumbents, their record, their tenure, and their opposition. We have an opportunity today to make a difference in who leads our school district over the next several years. Remember, in the next several months, the school board is going to be making major decisions on school closings as well as re-districting and dealing with major budget issues.
I want us to have a school board that is going to look at what is best for our students and their ability to learn in a safe environment.
