Sequoyah Middle School Cleanup Day Announced

Saturday morning there was a meeting with several neighborsand community leaders with Principal Cunningham at Sequoyah to talk about partnership opportunities.

Much more information will be forthcoming about those (and you can read more about these and other activities on the Sequoyah website), but all in attendance agreed that we needed to address the cleanliness and overall appearance of the grounds first.

So, a date was set for the first community clean-up at Sequoyah.

Saturday, February 13th and because it is Valentines Weekend, the theme is:

We Love Sequoyah!!

Make plans to come join us for 30 minutes to 2 hours as we start to take back our community middle school.  We are going to need strong bodies and much muscle as there is significant amount of debris and large items that have gathered over the years.  People of all ages are encouraged to come out and help make a difference.  Please bring your own gloves and equipment, trash bags will be provided.

Below are some photos to help you understand why this needs to happen and why it is so important to give our children a sense of pride and ownership of their school grounds.
